Strengthening painted wolf conservation in Tsavo, Kenya

Close monitoring of painted wolves is critical to their survival.

As part of PWF’s support for Kenya’s Wildlife Research and Training Institute (WRTI), we have provided them with a new Canon EOS R6 camera and a powerful 600mm lens. This will help improve their ability to document and better track Tsavo’s elusive painted wolf packs, capturing the details needed to create accurate ID files.

This is not a one-off contribution, this is part of our significant long-term investment in painted wolf conservation in the Tsavo landscape. Together with Tsavo Trust, WRTI and the Kenyan Wildlife Services we are working to build a powerful painted wolf conservation programme across this invaluable ecosystem.
