Diseases like rabies and canine distemper are serious threats to painted wolves. PDC undertakes periodic vaccination campaigns in the villages surrounding Hwange National Park to reduce this threat. They have just finalized another campaign, vaccinating over 1,700 domestic dogs. This is critically important, not only for the local community, but for the painted wolves as well!

There are updates on PDC’s Emerging Wildlife Conservation Champions. These students have grown through PDC’s outreach program to become wildlife leaders in their communities.
