The EWT works to save South Africa’s most endangered carnivore with two main objectives:
- Expand safe space both within South Africa and across southern Africa by expanding painted wolf range and maintaining genetic diversity through reintroductions and translocations.
- Maintain this painted wolf population through intensive monitoring, genetic translocations, disease control, conflict mitigation, education, and applied research.
