The Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) is dedicated to conserving threatened species and ecosystems in southern and East Africa to the benefit of all people.

The EWT works to save South Africa’s most endangered carnivore with two main objectives:

  • Expand safe space both within South Africa and across southern Africa by expanding painted wolf range and maintaining genetic diversity through reintroductions and translocations.
  • Maintain this painted wolf population through intensive monitoring, genetic translocations, disease control, conflict mitigation, education, and applied research.
