The Painted Dog Fund is a partnership between Wildlife Conservation Network and the Painted Wolf Foundation.

The Painted Dog Fund is a granting mechanism for raising and deploying funding for projects and initiatives that protect painted dogs in Africa.

The Painted Dog Fund offers donors a way to collectively pool their funding which the Fund then allocates to the best projects and initiatives that protect painted dogs, thereby maximising donor impact.

The Painted Dog Fund follows the Wildlife Conservation Network’s highly successful Wildlife Fund model which has supported the survival of Elephants, Lions, Rhinos and Pangolins for over a decade.

The Painted Wolf Foundation plays the lead role in running the Fund and is responsible for:

  • Setting strategy
  • Working with grantees to developing strong partnerships
  • Identifying investible projects
  • Managing the investment process
  • Monitoring grants
  • Appraising investment performance
  • Managing Fund “initiatives”
  • Administrating the Fund
