The brave story of Smoke

Painted wolves are of little direct danger to humans – there has never been a recorded instance of an attack by a painted wolf on humans. Unfortunately, they are a danger to human livelihoods, as they can and do prey on small livestock. In South Africa, painted wolves mainly live in fenced reserves, to protect both livestock and the painted wolves themselves!

In this story, Cole du Plessis of the Endangered Wildlife Trust shares the detailed story of what it takes to save a pack of painted wolves when they stray out of a reserve. We won’t spoil it for you, but please do click through and enjoy the incredible story of Smoke and her pack.
